B-17 Flying Fortress

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was the first mass-produced, four-engine heavy bomber. It is still one of the most recognised aeroplanes ever built. It was most widely used for daylight strategic bombings of German industrial targets during World War II as part of the United States Eighth Air Force.

Float Fly 2005

The 2005 Float-fly was held May 7th & 8th. We had 16 registered pilots at the event. They came from as far away as San Antonio, Harwood and Victoria. We even had some guys come from Deer Park. We had a good practice day on Friday, and a good fly-in on Saturday. We shut it down a little early Sunday due to a front coming through, but all had a good time. It was a little breezy Saturday, but the wind was right down the run way, or should I say the pond.

Keith Moody brought a new North Star and Brad Harman brought several planes, even a couple of war-birds on floats. We had hamburgers and cold drinks for the pilots.

Joe Pastor and Jr. brought a 1/3 scale cub that looked very good. Get your floats polished up cause we will have it again next year on the first weekend in May.
