B-17 Flying Fortress

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was the first mass-produced, four-engine heavy bomber. It is still one of the most recognised aeroplanes ever built. It was most widely used for daylight strategic bombings of German industrial targets during World War II as part of the United States Eighth Air Force.

      Membership: Membership is unlimited and consists of people from all backgrounds with a common interest in model aviation. Even though our focus is on scale aircraft we welcome all types and sizes of aircraft. We routinely have aircraft types ranging from basic trainers to the fastest of jets and from very small to models with 15' wing spans. It is hard to find a club that offers the variety of aircraft you might see at Bomber Field.

    Club Meetings: Bomber Field Club meetings are generally held the first Sunday of each month starting at 1:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the Bomber Field flying facility at Monaville, TX. Occasionally meeting times or places are changed generally due to an event scheduling. These changes are noted in the monthly email newsletter or, members are notified by phone.
